Lithuanian Aviation Museum is joining the International Museum Night initiative and invites visitors to a cozy evening among airplanes!
The newly opened exhibition this year will invite visitors to explore humanity’s dream of taking to the skies and the ambition to understand the boundless cosmos. Throughout the evening, visitors will be able to explore aviation history free of charge, participate in interactive activities, and experience a space-inspired atmosphere.

19:00–20:00 Creative workshops for children
Young visitors will enjoy fun activities including coloring, paper folding, paper airplane flying competitions, and other creative tasks.
20:00–20:45 Quiz “From the Dream of Flying to Space”
Visitors are invited to test their knowledge about humanity’s enduring dream of flight and the exploration of space. Teams of 1–5 participants will be formed, and prizes await the winners.

20:45–21:00 Awards Ceremony for 1st–3rd Place Quiz Winners
The best-performing teams will receive space-themed souvenirs.
21:30–22:30 Electronic Music and Space Visual Projection
As night falls, visitors will be immersed in a hypnotic world of sound and visuals — electronic music accompanied by spectacular projections of space imagery will create an unforgettable climax to the evening.
Museum Night at the Birthplace museums
On the occasion of the International Museum Night, culture is celebrated across Europe, inviting people to experience history in a different way — through movement, discovery, and the footsteps of aviation legends. Steponas Darius Birthplace Museum and Stasys Girėnas Birthplace Museum are joining this initiative as well, inviting visitors to a special evening full of immersive experiences.
On this day, visitors will enjoy an orientation trek, free museum admission, an evening tour, and cozy activities for the whole family — from historical stories to enchanting natural mysteries and unforgettable experiences.

10:00–19:00 Orientation Trek “From Birthplace to Birthplace”
Embark on an adventure with family or friends! Along the route, you will visit the birthplaces of both legendary pilots and discover the region’s cultural and natural landmarks. It is a wonderful opportunity to stay active, explore, and experience history firsthand.
Set off on a unique orientation trek connecting the birthplaces of two legendary pilots and commemorating the spirit of the Lituanica Flight transatlantic flight. The route stretches through cultural, historical, and natural landmarks — from the birthplace museum of Steponas Darius in Judrėnai to the birthplace museum of Stasys Girėnas in Vytogala.
The trek can be completed on foot, by bicycle, motorcycle, or car — each participant chooses their own route and pace. Along the way, you will visit churches, hill forts, memorials, and other meaningful places reflecting Lithuania’s history.
Participation Rules
– You may start the trek from either birthplace, as long as you finish at the other one.
– You may travel alone or in a small group.
– You may travel on foot, by bicycle, motorcycle, or car — you can even fly!
The goal is to visit as many locations along the route as possible between the pilots’ birthplaces and document at least 10 visited sites with selfies.
At one of the birthplaces, a prize will await you — either a metal badge or a magnet (your choice), as well as the opportunity to visit the museum exhibition free of charge and participate in the evening program dedicated to the international Museum Night.
