March 31, 2026 the newly renovated indoor exhibition of the Lithuanian Aviation Museum was officially presented to the cultural community – a modern, interactive, and historically rich space inviting visitors to rediscover the development of Lithuanian aviation and its heroes.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Chancellor of the Ministry of Culture Lukas Alsys, Mayor of Kaunas Visvaldas Matijošaitis, Vice Mayors Mantas Jurgutis and Andrius Palionis, Lieutenant Colonel of the Lithuanian Air Force Robertas Tumasonis, Chairman of the Lithuanian Museums Association Marius Pečiulis, as well as other representatives from the fields of culture, education, aviation, and the wider public. Guests were welcomed with a presentation of the new exhibition, its concept, and the results achieved in cooperation with partners.

During the event, speeches and well wishes were delivered to the museum and its visitors. It was emphasized that the renewed exhibition marks an important step in strengthening the dissemination of Lithuania’s aviation history, fostering historical awareness in society, and encouraging the younger generation to take an interest in aviation, technology, and innovation.

The new exhibition stands out for its contemporary presentation of Lithuanian aviation history, offering visitors an interactive experience through engaging storytelling, authentic exhibits, and stories covering the evolution of aviation in Lithuania from its origins to the present day. Special attention is given not only to historical achievements but also to modern aviation and its future perspectives, allowing every visitor to experience what flight truly means.

As noted by the museum’s director, Dr. Inga Puidokienė, the exhibition represents not only a renewed space but also a new relationship with visitors—inviting them to explore, experience, and engage. This sentiment was echoed by the exhibition curator Sandė Jankauskienė, who thanked everyone who contributed and invited visitors to take off along the runway to where flight begins.

The Lithuanian Aviation Museum invites everyone to visit and experience the new exhibition in person starting April 1, from 10:00 AM.
